Brisbane Heat vs Sydney Sixers prediction

Things couldn't have gone much worse for Brisbane Heat last year, when they finished rock bottom of the table, losing nine of their ten games without a single win. Unsurprisingly, significant changes have been made to the squad.

For starters, there's a new captain at the helm, with Georgia Redmayne now leading the Heat. England leg-spinner Sarah Glenn is among the new signings, while Orla Prendergast and Yastika Bhatia have been brought in as overseas players. The notoriously big-hitting Grace Harris remains though, and if Brisbane are to have any chance of a play-off place, she needs to perform well.

In Sydney Sixers, though, they are coming up against a dangerous unit. The Sixers always boast a strong squad, and this year is no different. They are captained by Ashleigh Gardner and can call upon world-class players such as Ellyse Perry and New Zealand overseas all-rounder Amelia Kerr. Kerr, Perry and Gardner make up a fearsome three-headed monster, which should prove a nightmare for any opposition to deal with, whether with the bat or the ball.

There is plenty for Brisbane Heat to do to convince us of their credentials in 2026 and it's hard to look beyond the Sixers in this encounter.
