Sudurpaschim Royals were comfortably beaten in their opening game of the tournament, bowled out for just 87 in their 20 overs and losing by seven wickets, with Lumbini Lions chasing down the target in fewer than 10 overs. The Royals will need to improve significantly with the bat if they are to stand a chance in this one as their top scorer, Dipendra Singh Airee, made just 27. There were positives with the ball, though, with Anil Kharel taking two wickets for nine runs in his two overs bowled.
It doesn't get any easier for them against Pokhara Avengers, another side with plenty of experience in their line-up such as all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, while Sri Lanka international Chamika Karunaratne and Bangladesh's Mahedi Hasan will likely have big roles to play as well. Pokhara have had to wait to get their campaign underway, but they look a team capable of contending in the tournament.
Perhaps low on confidence after losing so comprehensively in their first match, Sudurpaschim and their fragile batting unit looks vulnerable here, so back Pokhara Avengers to grab victory.
