Biratnagar Kings are looking to bounce back from a close defeat to Chitwan Rhinos in their opener. Chasing a target set up by a vital 70 from Dawid Malan, the Kings lost too many wickets and were bowled out for 149 with three balls to spare.
Karnali Yaks, meanwhile, got off to a winning start, beating Janakpur Bolts by 19 runs. Ariful Islam’s 43 from 29 balls helped them reach 132 for nine from their 20 overs, and an excellent bowling performance then saw them roll out the Bolts for 113.
Provided the Karnali bowling unit can maintain that high level of potency and discipline, they should be afforded further success in this next game. But it is opener Islam who deserves the spotlight. He will be tasked with taking advantage of the powerplay, and he has already proven he can do that, having hit four maximums in Karnali’s last game. With that in mind, back him to register another 20 or more runs against Biratnagar.
