Both of these teams impressed in their opening NPL fixtures, Lumbini Lions bowling out Sudurpaschim Royals for just 87, sealing a seven-wicket victory before the halfway point of their run chase. Meanwhile, Chitwan Rhinos had to work harder for their victory. They registered 157/3 against Biratnagar Kings, with Dawid Malan scoring 70. In what was a tight run chase, the Rhinos bowled Biratnagar out for 149, with Kamil Singheri taking four wickets.
While Chitwan impressed with the bat in that game, facing this Lumbini bowling attack will prove a far tougher challenge. The Lions were firing on all cylinders with the ball and when taking into account conditions in Nepal, which could be affected by wet weather, that bodes well for them.
