Pafos, who reached the league phase of the UEFA Champions League last season, have regressed in the last year and stumbled into this competition, with their league phase beginning with a 3-1 defeat to Atalanta in Bergamo last week.
Riga, who are seeking to hold off Rigas Futbola Skola at the top-of-the-table in the Latvian Higher League, started with a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Kairat last week, contributing to a nine-match unbeaten run of form across all competitions.
With their home advantage, Pafos will have to be viewed as the firm favourites but Riga’s own good form should ensure it is not straightforward for the Cypriots.
