Osasuna preview: Inconsistent Osasuna
Having led minnows Mirandes to the playoff final of the Spanish Segunda Division last season, Alessio Lisci then replaced Vicente Moreno at Osasuna over the summer, and the Italian has started life in Navarre with two victories and three defeats thus far.
Osasuna come into this one on the back of a 2-1 loss to Villarreal at El Madrigal last weekend in a game in which they went down to ten men but still took the lead before the Yellow Submarine turned things around in the second-half.
Elche preview: Newly-promoted Elche
Elche, under the management of Eder Sarabia, played a brilliant style of football as they won the second-tier of Spanish football last season to return to La Liga and the Valencians have carried that on into this campaign, too.
The visitors are still unbeaten after their opening five matches, and they got themselves a second win of the season at the weekend as they defeated Real Oviedo by a goal to nil, courtesy of a ninth minute strike from Portugal international Andre Silva.
Osasuna team news: Rosier suspended
The man that was sent off in that aforementioned loss to Villarreal was Valentin Rosier and so the defender is missing through suspension for this one, despite it being a harsh red card.
Predicted XI (3-4-3): Sergio Herrera; Boyomo, Alejandro Catena, Juan Cruz; Abel Bretones, Lucas Torro, Jon Moncayola, Becker; Raul Garcia, Budimir, Victor Munoz
Unavailable: Rosier (Suspended), Aimar Oroz (Injured)
Questionable: Moi Gomez (Injured)
Elche team news: Excellent Elche squad
Some very good business over the summer means that Elche are likely to be able to deal well with their injury issues as Rodri Mendoza is sidelined, whilst Alvaro is a doubt.
Predicted XI (3-1-4-2): Inaki Pena; Alvaro Nunez, Affengruber, Bigas; Aleix Febas; Josan, German Valera, Marcos Aguado, Diangana; Silva, Rafa Mir
Unavailable: Rodri Mendoza (Injured)
Questionable: Adria Pedrosa (Injured), Neto (Injured), Alvaro (Injured)
Osasuna vs Elche prediction
Alessio Lisci managed to majorly overachieve with Mirandes last season by playing a defensive style of football. Osasuna have therefore been a tough watch this year, despite some intriguing attackers, and now the suspension for Rosier, as it did last weekend, could be quite disruptive. With that, Elche will fancy their chances of exploiting with their slick style and siding with the visitors would represent good value in Pamplona.
Osasuna vs Elche tip: Double chance – Elche to win or draw
