Olimpia vs Penarol prediction

Paraguayan side Olimpia come into this one on the back of a comfortable 3-1 defeat of Sportivo Luqueno in their most recent outing at the weekend. That was just their second victory in their last nine matches across all competitions with that run of form including defeats to both San Antonio Bulo Bulo and Velez Sarsfield in this competition.

Penarol, on the other hand, one of Uruguay’s biggest clubs, have taken three points from their opening two Copa Libertadores matches, defeating the aforementioned San Antonio Bulo Bulo by two goals to nil as well as losing 2-1 to the aforementioned Velez. They most recently defeated Wanderers by two goals to one in the Uruguayan Apertura at the weekend.

Penarol will be favourites for this one against a generally poor side that may well have found some form but the form that they have found has been domestically and this is a tougher test.

Olimpia vs Penarol tip: Penarol to win & under 3.5 goals
