Novak Djokovic vs Alexander Zverev Prediction

Novak Djokovic came through a really high-quality match in the quarter-finals as he produced a stunning performance to beat Carlos Alcaraz in four sets. After losing the first set, Djokovic dug deep and raised his level to beat the third seed.

Djokovic has improved with every match he has faced and he will know this is a golden opportunity for him to win a record 25th Grand Slam title. The Australian Open has been arguably his best Grand Slam over his career and given the rest between seasons, his body will be as fresh as it could possibly be right now.

He meets Alexander Zverev in the semi-finals and Djokovic leads the way in the head-to-head 8-4. They did now play last season but their only meeting since 2021 came in 2023 in Cincinnati which Djokovic won in straight sets.

Zverev will be fully of confidence himself coming into this match given how well he has been playing in Melbourne the last fortnight. After cruising through the first three rounds without dropping a set, he has since beaten Ugo Humbert and Tommy Paul in four sets.

Confidence is high for the second seed but there is no doubt he now faces his toughest test.

Djokovic is looking really sharp and is enjoying his new partnership with Andy Murray as his coach. While he did look in a little discomfort at one spell during his match with Alcaraz, he should be fine for this match.

Our preference lies with Djokovic here but it could easily go four or five sets. Zverev is playing well but Djokovic can create enough on his serve to generate the chances to break. Djokovic has the psychological edge over Zverev and that will likely be the difference.
