Magdalena Frech vs Caroline Dolehide prediction

Magdalena Frech made a strong start to her campaign in Guadalajara after a straight sets victory over Nao Hibino. The seventh seed conceded just two break points, winning 6-1 6-4. The Pole won this event two years ago, and she will be hoping for another strong run. Frech suffered a first-round exit at the US Open, following a loss to Iva Jovic.

She now takes on Caroline Dolehide. The American produced a battling display to get past home favourite Renata Zarazua. Dolehide, who had to qualify for the main draw, converted four out of five break points as she completed a 6-1 3-6 6-3 victory. Her comfort in these conditions should not be underestimated: she reached the Guadalajara final in 2023, and her powerful serve and forehand are well suited to the altitude. 

Frech offers the greater consistency from the baseline, while Dolehide will want to shorten points and dictate with her first strike brand of tennis. Both of these players have impressive records at this tournament.
