Diane Parry vs Peyton Stearns prediction

Diane Parry arrives in Guadalajara as the fourth seed, and received a bye in the first-round. The Frenchwoman enters the tournament in excellent form after winning the Monterrey title immediately before the US Open. Parry beat Clara Tauson and Ann Li before a win over Elise Mertens in the final. She got past Viktorija Golubic in New York, but her winning run ended after a straight sets loss to Sorana Cirstea. She is now ranked just outside the world’s top 30.

Peyton Stearns made an impressive start at the event, defeating last year’s finalist Emiliana Arango in straight sets. Stearns recovered immediately after being broken early, winning 6-3 6-2 in 76 minutes. It was an important response after a disappointing US Open, where Harriet Dart came from behind to beat her in the first-round.

Parry is the form player after her Monterrey title, but Stearns looked sharp against Arango and has enough power to make this competitive.
