Cristina Bucsa vs Panna Udvardy prediction

Cristina Bucsa made a convincing start to her campaign in Guadalajara as she beat former US Open champion Bianca Andreescu in straight sets. The sixth seed needed one hour and 37 minutes to advance, breaking the Canadian five times and winning 6-4 6-3. It continued a positive spell for Bucsa, following her run to the third-round of the US Open, where she beat Sara Bejlek and Himeno Sakatsume before losing in straight sets to Coco Gauff. Bucsa also has strong form in Mexico this season, having won the title in Merida.

Panna Udvardy is her next opponent. The Hungarian was made to work for her win against Lois Boisson. Udvardy recovered well after losing a tight second set tiebreak, taking control of the decider to win 6-4 6-7 (6) 6-2. It was a welcome result, as she had lost her first-round match at the US Open to Mananchaya Sawangkaew. 

Bucsa leads the head-to-head 1-0 after a three set win in Cincinnati last month. She is the more reliable player on this surface.
