Surrey losing at home to Essex in their final South Group fixture meant they were knocked off the top of the table by Hampshire Hawks, who defeated Sussex Sharks to claim a home quarter-final and leave Surrey forced to settle for an away game. They will travel to Nottingham with a strong squad though and Notts Outlaws would maybe have hoped for an opponent without such an array of T20 pedigree.
