Nantes preview: Canaries need to fly at last
Only a couple of clubs have made managerial changes over the summer, but Nantes are one of them, with Antoine Kombouare departing the Stade de la Beaujoire for a second time and being replaced by former Benfica B coach Luis Castro.
Luis Castro is an extremely risky appointment, but he has recently done a very good job with Dunkerque. The Canaries have brought in a few new signings, with perhaps the most important set to be Morocco striker Youssef El Arabi from APOEL Nicosia.
Paris Saint-Germain preview: Trophy-laden Parisiens
Last season, Paris Saint-Germain were utterly phenomenal throughout the campaign, particularly in the second-half of the season, as they romped their way to a first ever treble with a 5-0 demolition of Internazionale in the UEFA Champions League final.
Over the summer, the Parisiens reached the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup final with hammerings of Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, but they then suffered a surprise 3-0 demolition at the hands of Chelsea at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
Nantes team news: Fully fit
A blessing for Nantes on the opening day of the campaign is that they have a fully fit and available squad for the visit of PSG so they will be able to name an unchanged eleven.
Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Lopes; Awaziem, Radakovic, Cozza; Amian, Coquelin, Lepenant, Lahdo; Mostafa Mohamed, Abline; El Arabi

Nantes vs Paris Saint-Germain prediction
Nantes are expected to be a very poor team this season. Even with the change in management, they are likely to be struggling throughout, as they have been over the last few years’ too. Paris Saint-Germain may have been forced into a hard-fought clash in the UEFA Super Cup, which they did win, after such a short pre-season. However, they should win this one very comfortably, and perhaps even run up a score.
