Nantes preview: In the battle

In the last few seasons, Nantes have been struggling and battling against Ligue 1 relegation and the Canaries are again involved in the battle, sitting third-from-bottom with Luis Castro now at the helm after Antoine Kombouare’s stint.

Nantes come into this one on the back of a 1-1 draw with Le Havre a couple of weeks ago. They are winless in three matches since a defeat of Paris. Their performances have perhaps been better than results have suggested.

Lorient preview: Struggling Lorient

Following promotion to the top-flight last season, Lorient have an impressive off-field recruitment strategy, as an affiliate club to AFC Bournemouth, and their performances have been reasonable but they have struggled at the start in terms of results.

The visitors have managed just two wins in their 12 matches so far this season. The visitors went into the November international break on the back of a 1-1 draw at home to Toulouse a couple of weeks ago.

Nantes team news: A few doubts

Nantes have a few injury doubts for this one, such as goalkeeper Antony Lopes as well as the likes of Bahereba Guirassy, Johann Lepenant and Mayckel Lahdo.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Carlgren; Kelvin Amian, Awaziem, Tati, Leroux; Mwanga, Kwon, Hong; Mostafa Mohamed El Arabi, Abline

Unavailable: Coquelin (Injured), Leroux (Injured)

Questionable: Lopes (Injured), Lepenant (Injured), Lahdo (Injured), Tabibou (Injured), Guirassy (Injured)

Lorient team news: Several absentees

Lorient head to Brittany with plenty of injury issues and a couple of fresher concerns, too, as both Igor Silva and Laurent Abergel are now unavailable for the visitors.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Mvogo; Meite, Talbi, Yongwa; Mvuka, Avom, Cadiou, Dermane; Pagis, Kouassi; Aiyegun

Unavailable: Toure (Injured), Faye (Injured), Abergel (Injured), Igor Silva (Injured), Katseris (Injured), Sanusi (Injured)

Questionable: Fadiga (Injured)

Nantes vs Lorient prediction

Luis Castro’s Nantes put in some reasonable performances at the start of this season. However, they have declined as the season has gone on, with their results also remaining very poor. They face a Lorient side that head to Stade de la Beaujoire themselves still playing well without the results and so siding with the visitors would appear the best way to go for this one, at least in terms of value.

Nantes vs Lorient tip: Double chance – Lorient to win or draw
