Mozambique have started CAF qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup well, but they come into this one on the back of a poor defeat as they now take on Botswana.

Kick-off date/time:

How to watch on TV: UK – Not televised / US – Not televised

How to watch online: UK – FIFA+ / US – FIFA+

Key Stats

  • Mozambique have won the last four international matches between these teams.
  • Mozambique have lost only two of their last 14 World Cup qualifying matches at home (W7 D5).
  • Botswana have won only two of their last 11 World Cup qualifying matches outside of Botswana (L9).

Mozambique vs Botswana Prediction

Mozambique come into this one on the back of a 4-0 hammering at the hands of Uganda at the Mandela National Stadium the other day, in a game that was goalless at half-time. Mozambique remain in a good position to finish second, though, and potentially earn themselves a playoff berth.

They face a Botswana side that would now go above Mozambique on goal difference with a victory in this clash at Estadio do Zimpeto in Maputo. Botswana were most recently beaten 3-1 by a strong Algeria side the other day, making it just one victory inside 90 minutes in their last eight matches.

Botswana are a weak team, but stand a chance of qualification and will make things tough for Mozambique, but the hosts should still come out on top this week.
