Moyuka Uchijima vs Lin Zhu prediction
Moyuka Uchijima ended her 10 match losing streak in the first-round of the US Open with a dramatic three set victory over Olga Danilovic, which saw the Japanese player save seven match points before going on to win. However, she would go on to lose to Barbora Krejcikova in the next round. She then competed for Japan in the Billie Jean King Cup, losing heavily to Katie Boulter in the singles of their quarter-final tie against Great Britain.
Lin Zhu was due to compete in the Seoul Open last week but withdrew before her match with Sorana Cirstea took place. The Chinese ended a four match losing streak as she got through to the final in Guiyang on the ITF circuit a week earlier. Her best result on the WTA Tour saw her make the fourth-round of the Canadian Open at the beginning of last month.
The head-to-head is 1-1 with Zhu winning their only encounter on a hard court two years ago at the Japan Open. Zhu has the stronger record on this surface and her aggressive style gives her a decent opportunity against a struggling Uchijima.
