Moyuka Uchijima vs Ekaterina Alexandrova prediction

Moyuka Uchijima continued her run at the Madrid Open with a stunning result, defeating third seed and 2022 finalist Jessica Pegula 6-3 6-2. It’s been a fabulous run to the round-of-16 stage from the Japanese who has stepped up this season.

She now takes on Ekaterina Alexandrova. She defeated Daria Kasatkina 6-3 7-6 to continue her strong run in the clay court events this season so far. She did have two opportunities to serve out the match in the second set but ended up sealing it on a tiebreak. She hasn’t lost a set so far in the tournament and now has an 8-2 win-loss record on clay in 2025.

Uchijima has shown great resolve to defeat higher-ranked opponents and make it through to the last 16 of a 1000 event for the first time but we think her run will end at the hands of Alexandrova. She’s in really fine form and we back her to make the quarter-finals with a two-set win.
