THOMAS PETERSEN VS JAMAL POGUES LOWDOWN

The first submission win of Thomas Petersen’s (8-1) career earnt him the call-up to the big time. He tied Chandler Cole’s (2023) arm up in a keylock on the Contender Series which extended his win streak to three. They include two knockouts under the LFA banner which came in response to getting knocked out by Waldo Cortes-Acosta (2022).

Jamal Pogues (10-4) welcomes him hoping to bounce back from a loss. He also earnt the call-up after a successful audition on the Contender Series. He outpointed Paulo Renato Jr (2022) and followed suit against Josh Parisian (2023) on his debut. However, he came up short against Mick Parkin back in July at UFC Fight Night 224.

THOMAS PETERSEN VS JAMAL POGUES PREDICTION

This is a nice welcome for Petersen. He is a very strong grappler and will will attempt to smother Pogues like a wet blanket.

Until that happens, they will test each other out on the feet. They are both very powerful, but do not expect fireworks. Pogues’ lack of power will give Petersen the confidence to step into range and attempt the takedown.

Pogues’ takedown defence is only 66% and we expect Petersen to succeed in taking him down and keeping him there. We expect his ground-and-pound to be enough to earn the TKO or open up a submission.
