KLEYDSON RODRIGUES VS C.J. VERGARA LOWDOWN
Making his UFC debut this weekend, Kleydson Rodrigues (7-1) will be looking to catch the eye of the MMA community when he steps foot inside the UFC octagon for the first time. Rodrigues earned a shot at the UFC following a successful stint on the Dana White’s Contender Series when he defeated Santo Curatolo via decision.
As for C.J. Vergara (9-3-1), he will be making his second walk to the UFC octagon. Like Rodrigues, Vergara also had a successful appearance on the Dana White’s Contender Series. With that being said, Vergara was beaten by Ode Osbourne on his promotional debut back in November.

Heading into this weekend’s flyweight showdown, both men will be coming in at the same height. However, Vergara will have the edge in the reach department. On paper, this is a tough matchup for Vergara. Despite turning up in the later rounds against Osbourne, Vergara was poor throughout.
It’s fair to say that Rodrigues is a sharp striker. It doesn’t bode well for Vergara who gets hit easily. Rodrigues tends to mix in his heavy elbows as well as a few knees. Therefore, we suspect that Rodrigues will look to use his long-range striking to pick Vergara apart and look to outpoint Vergara.
