Looking to win in the UFC for the first time in his career, Journey Newson (9-3-1) will be aware that there is a lot on the line for him this weekend. If Newson losses again, it could be the last time he steps foot inside the UFC. Newson has not tasted victory in nearly three years and is coming off of a defeat against Randy Costa.
As for Fernie Garcia (10-1), the Mexican native will be looking to impress on his UFC debut. The 30-year-old earned the chance to compete in MMA’s biggest promotion following a knockout victory over Joshua Weems in the Dana White’s Contender Series. Currently 5-0 in his last five outings, Garica will be eager to show what he is capable of this weekend.

Heading into this weekend’s bantamweight showdown, Garcia will have the advantage in both the height and reach department. Garcia has had his fair share of battles in the past, which Newson may look to exploit.
