JOHN ALLAN VS DUSTIN JACOBY LOWDOWN
Dustin Jacoby (15-5-1) will be looking to make it two wins on the bounce when he face John Allan at UFC 268. Unbeaten in six fights, Jacoby first fought in the UFC back in 2011. However, after going 0-2, White released the light heavyweight. Since then, Jacoby would impress across the regional scene. Eventually, he was rewarded with the chance sign with the UFC through the Contender Series. After beating Ty Flores, Jacoby would have the chance to fight in the UFC once again. As of right now, Jacoby is 2-0 since resigning with the promotion and will be looking to catch the eye of many this weekend.
It’s been nearly a year since MMA fans last saw John Allan (13-6) in action. On that night, the Brazilian native lost via a split decision to Roman Dolidze. Allan’s last win came two years ago against Alexandre Silva. Allan originally had the chance to sign with the UFC back in 2018 after earning a spot on DWCS. Unfortunately, he was beaten by Vinicius Moreira. This will be Allan’s third fight since signing with the promotion. Therefore, the Brazilian will be hoping to pick up a crucial win at UFC 268 at the MSG.
JOHN ALLAN VS DUSTIN JACOBY PREDICTION
With Jacoby stepping in, Allan has been handed with another tough contender. Jacoby will have the reach and height advantage in this fight. Dustin has got to use this to his advantage as "The Hanyak" is arguably the better striker and will have the edge in the kickboxing exchanges.
For Allan, the Brazilian needs to set the pace from the get-go as Jacoby is stepping in on short notice. Allan can’t afford to allow Jacoby to control proceedings.
Despite filling in on short notice, Jacoby will havve the gas tank to last the full fifteen, should the fight go the distance. This will be a very close fight, but expect Jacoby’s striking to be enough to get the job done this weekend.
