Making his UFC debut this weekend, Azamat Murzakanov (10-0) will be aiming to succeed in his promotional debut. After dealing with a couple of fight cancellations, Azamat will finally showcase his talent to the UFC faithful this weekend.
Jared Vanderaa (12-6) is stepping in on short notice this weekend. Originally, Murzakanov was supposed to face Philipe Lins. The UFC faithful last saw Vanderaa in action over a month ago. Vanderaa deserves a lot of respect for stepping in on short notice against a fighter like Azamat Murzakanov. When comparing the two Vanderaa will have a six-inch height advantage and a nine-inch reach advantage over Murzakanov.
On the feet, it should be an intriguing matchup. Murzakanov has a clear edge in speed, footwork and has the ability to put his opponents away with one punch. However, Vanderaa will look to use his height and reach advantage to get the job done. If things are getting tough for Murzakanov, then the Russian will aim to use his solid wrestling skills to try and get the job done.
