Currently riding a two-fight winning streak for the first time since 2019, Brad Tavares (19-6) is looking to derail a hype train this weekend. Tavares is coming off of a split decision victory against Omari Akhmedov back in July of 2021. The 34-year-old will be itching to keep up his excellent run of form.
As for Dricus du Plessis (16-2), he will be glad that he has finally got a fight. After four fight cancellations, du Plessis will finally be entering the cage this weekend. Dricus has won his first two UFC fights since signing with the promotion back in 2020. Currently riding a four-fight win streak, du Plessis is coming off of a knockout win against Trevin Giles back in July of 2021.

Heading into this weekend’s middleweight bout, both men will be coming in at the same height. However, du Plessis will have a slight reach advantage.
Du Plessis has such an awkward fight style, and fans like it. This weekend, he certainly possesses the tools to get the job done. Tavares may look to use his takedown defence to try and frustrate Dricus. However, we suspect that Dricus will look to counter Tavares’ attacks and exploits some of the holes in Tavares’ game. In recent times, Tavares’ chin has failed him. Don’t be surprised if we see an early finish this weekend.
