ALIASKHAB KHIZRIEV VS MAKHMUD MURADOV LOWDOWN
Aliaskhab Khizriev (14-0) finally made his UFC debut in 2022. After submitting Henrique Shiguemoto (2020) on the Contender Series, four bouts fell through before finally making the walk. He met Denis Tiuliulin and it was business as usual submitting him in the second round and then having another fight fall through – this time Jacob Malkoun. Fortunately, he is still on the Fight Night 235 card… for now.
We are not quite sure what Makhmud Muradov (26-8) did to annoy the UFC matchmakers as he has now been lined up for the unbeaten Russian. After kicking off his UFC campaign with three impressive performances, he got submitted by Gerald Meerschaert (2021). He was rewarded with a match-up against the prospect Caio Borralho (2022) and lost a unanimous decision. However, he is back on track with a unanimous decision over Bryan Barberena (2023).
ALIASKHAB KHIZRIEV VS MAKHMUD MURADOV PREDICTION
It is hard to call Khizriev a prospect at 33 years old, but he is undefeated and only getting better. He is a ferocious grappler which has been enough to avoid any real threat. He will waste no time in closing the distance and dragging Muradov to the deck.
Once, he is there is will stay active hunting the finish. Muradov can grapple himself but his wrestling is not on the Russian’s level so he will try and keep the fight standing. He is an exceptional striker and if this stays on the feet, we would back him all day.
However, Khizriev will not allow this to remain on the feet for any real length of time and we expect him to eventually find a submission. However, considering the odds and Muradov’s power, he is worth a punt.
Prediction: Khizriev via Submission
Value Bet: Muradov via KO/TKO
