The prediction
Melbourne sit level on points with defending champions the Brisbane Lions and a strong Adelaide Crows side as they sit in behind Hawthorn, the Sydney Swans and upcoming opponents Fremantle ahead of Round 22 of the 2026 AFL campaign.
Fremantle, captained by the excellent Alex Pearce, have been superb throughout the campaign with 18 victories and two defeats in their 20 matches. Freo earned a 37-point hammering of the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium last week.
Fremantle have been one of the best regular season teams in AFL history and, despite Melbourne being strong themselves, the Dockers are favourites once again.
