The prediction

Melbourne begin Round 14 of the AFL season sitting fifth in the table, level on points with Geelong and in behind Fremantle, Sydney and Hawthorn. The Victorians come into this one on the back of an eight-point defeat of Collingwood last week.

They now face an Essendon side that have struggled throughout the campaign. In their 14 matches thus far, they have won one and lost 13 of those matches as they head into this one on the back of a five-point defeat to Carlton.

That was an improved result for Essendon with a narrower defeat but they remain the weakest side in AFL and Melbourne should get another comfortable victory at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Melbourne vs Essendon tip: Melbourne to win -25.5 points
