Maya Joint vs Emma Raducanu prediction

Maya Joint enjoyed an encouraging run in Madrid, getting through the qualifying rounds and winning her first-round encounter against Carlota Martinez Cirez before a battling defeat in the next stage of the tournament against 11th seed Emma Navarro. The 19-year-old broke the American’s serve on four separate occasions but couldn’t capitalise and lost 7-5 7-5.

Joint has made it through the qualifying at this event and now takes on Great Britain’s Emma Raducanu. 

Raducanu’s return to clay court tennis began with a really impressive straight sets win against Suzan Lamens in the first-round of Madrid. Unfortunately for the Brit, she struggled with the warm conditions in her next match against Marta Kostyuk. Despite mounting a comeback in the second set, the former US Open champion lost 6-4 2-6 6-2 to the Ukrainian.

Despite that recent loss, there were some encouraging signs for Raducanu during those two matches, and we think she has enough firepower in her game to defeat the young Australian and get her tournament off to a winning start.
