Key Stats

  • Mauritania are aiming to win successive World Cup qualifying matches for the first time.
  • South Sudan are aiming to win a World Cup qualifying match for the first time (D5 L6).

Mauritania vs South Sudan Prediction

Mauritania come into this one on the back of their first victory of CAF qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup the other day as they defeated Togo by two goals to nil at the Nouadhibou Olympic Stadium, courtesy of goals for Papa Ndiaga Yade and Aly Abeid.

They now face a South Sudan side that have collected just three points with their four defeats from their seven matches thus far. They are among the weakest teams in Africa, but they are a little bit more difficult to beat than the rest of the weakest on the continent.

Mauritania have to remain as firm favourites for this one, especially with their home advantage, but it is likely to remain a low-scoring, low quality affair.

Mauritania vs South Sudan Tip: Mauritania to win & under 3.5 goals
