Mattia Bellucci has impressed over the past month or so, making the quarter-finals of the Mexican Open while also reaching the final of the Cap Cana Challenger, which saw him beat the likes of Hubert Hurkacz, Raphael Collingon and Adam Walton. Bellucci was able to qualify for the Miami Open a few days later, but he was uncompetitive in round one against Alex Michelsen. He is ranked inside the top 80 of the world rankings.
He faces Reda Bennani in the first-round, who received a wildcard. The 19-year-old has competed in just four events this season. Bennani attempted to qualify for the Qatar Open last month, but he lost in the first stage to Pablo Carreno Busta. His results at lower-level tournaments have been poor and he is yet to get past the second-round of an event in 2026.
