A break in the opening game of the second proved to be decisive, with Jodar wrapping up a 7-6 (4) 6-4 win.
Arnaldi has struggled with a persistent right foot injury that has prevented him from competing consistently, but he is now performing at his highest level for quite some time, and he will receive great support from a home crowd once again. He should be able to test Jodar, who starts as the clear favourite.
