Marta Kostyuk vs Karolina Muchova prediction

Karolina Muchova won an all-Czech affair to maintain her bid for another deep run in New York.

The 11th seed hit back to defeat her compatriot Linda Noskova 6-7 6-4 6-2 and will have designs on reaching the last four at Flushing Meadows for the third year in a row.

Standing in the way of a return to the quarter-finals is Marta Kostyuk, who also came from behind to defeat Diane Parry 3-6 6-4 6-2. 

The Ukrainian will take on Muchova for the first time having broken new ground in reaching this stage of the tournament and will be a clear underdog. 

Kostyuk has been in fine form since Montreal having previously endured a six-match losing streak, but a fit and firing Muchova is capable of beating the very best.

The former French Open finalist has been taken the distance in every match so far and it may well be the case again here, with the outcome likely to see the Czech come good once more.
