Marseille preview: Entertaining l’OM
Olympique de Marseille come into this one on the back of a 2-1 loss to Real Madrid in the league phase of the UEFA Champions League in midweek, with former Paris Saint-Germain forward notching a brace of penalties for Los Blancos in that one.
Roberto De Zerbi has made a very entertaining and aggressive Marseille side, and that is shown by their four matches in Ligue 1 thus far consisting of 13 goals. They have an abundance of talent, but they also often throw in a woeful performance.
Paris Saint-Germain preview: Perfect Parisiens
Paris Saint-Germain managed to enjoy a 4-0 hammering of Atalanta at the start of their UEFA Champions League title defence in midweek, courtesy of goals from Marquinhos, Bradley Barcola, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Goncalo Ramos.
The Parisiens have started the Ligue 1 season with four wins from four, albeit they haven’t actually been overly convincing just yet. They eased past Lens by two goals to nil at the Parc des Princes last weekend.
Marseille team news: Gouiri fully fit
After Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang started due to an injury to Amine Gouiri, Gouiri is likely to come back into the eleven, whilst centre-back Nayef Aguerd is now a doubt.
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Rulli; Michael Amir Murillo, Pavard, Egan-Riley, Medina; Gomes, Kondogbia; Greenwood, Nadir, Weah; Gouiri
Unavailable: Traore (Injured)
Questionable: Aguerd (Injured)
Paris Saint-Germain team news: No Doue or Dembele
As a result of being on international duty, both Desire Doue and Ousmane Dembele are missing through injury and that has caused a few issues between the national team and PSG.
Predicted XI (4-3-3): Chevalier; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Willian Pacho, Mendes; Neves, Vitinha, Fabian Ruiz; Barcola, Ramos, Kvaratskhelia
Unavailable: Beraldo (Injured), Doue (Injured), Dembele (Injured)
Questionable:
Marseille vs Paris Saint-Germain prediction
Marseille, as mentioned, have a remarkable amount of talent and their squad is arguably too deep, with finding the right cohesion and the right starting eleven quite difficult for De Zerbi. That said, on their day, they can really get at anyone, as was the case against Madrid. PSG will head to the south of France as firm favourites, even if they have to change things up due to injury and rotation, but, whatever the outcome, it should be a thriller for the neutral.
