Marketa Vondrousova vs Jasmine Paolini prediction

A fit and firing Marketa Vondrousova could well offer value to push for an upset against Jasmine Paolini. 

The former Wimbledon champion has the mix of craft and venom to unsettle many an opponent and the counter-punching Italian seventh seed could be vulnerable. 

This will be their second meeting and it was the Czech who won 7-5 6-3 in their first encounter, albeit on a hard court eight years ago. 

Paolini is obviously a different proposition now and did reach the final in Cincinnati leading into this tournament. 

The world number eight will be a favourite in many people’s eyes, but world number 60, Vondrousova may relish the spotlight and don’t be surprised if this develops into a real battle if the Czech brings her A-game to the table.
