Marie Bouzkova vs Magda Linette prediction
In her first match back since a disappointing first-round loss at the US Open, Marie Bouzkova produced a fine display in Beijing as she beat Tatjana Maria in straight sets. The Czech did not even concede a break point as she wrapped up a 6-2 6-4 win after just an hour and 13 minutes. Bouzkova won 83% of her first serve points.
She now faces Magda Linette, who received a bye in round one. Linette retired in the first-round of her match with Emiliana Arango in Guadalajara but makes her return here. Aside from a round-of-16 finish at the Cincinnati Open, Linette’s form has been poor over the last three months, and she is currently on a three match losing streak.
Bouzkova has been the better player of the two, having picked up a home title in Prague and made the semi-finals in Monterrey last month. We like her chances of defeating the Pole in this second-round clash.
