Mariano Navone vs Learner Tien prediction

Mariano Navone was unable to build any momentum at the US Open as he lost to Marcos Giron in five sets. Navone had defeated Giron in the first-round of the Winston-Salem Open a week earlier, but the American came out on top despite a fightback from Navone after going two sets to love down. Primarily a clay court specialist, his best results of the season have occurred on that surface, with a Challenger title in Braunschweig and a run to the quarter-finals of the Argentina Open.

He will face Learner Tien in Hangzhou. Tien’s run at the US Open ended in the first-round after a straight sets defeat to 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic. Nevertheless, the 20-year-old still tested Djokovic at times and will hope to end the season strongly. He has already shown his promise with several victories over top 10 players this season, while he also reached the fourth-round of the Australian and Canadian Opens, along with a quarter-final finish in Acapulco.

Navone leads the head-to-head 1-0 after a win at Indian Wills earlier in the campaign. However, Tien is always improving and he’s a strong pick to notch a victory of his own and advance to the next round.
