Mariano Navone vs Botic van de Zandschulp prediction

Mariano Navone is just one match away from a second appearance in the final of the Tiriac Open as he came from a set down to beat Alex Molcan in the quarter-finals. Molcan had pulled off a shock in the previous round by beating top seed Gabriel Diallo in comfortable fashion, and he looked on course for another win after taking the first set. However, Navone found his rhythm to win 3-6 6-2 6-3.

He now faces Botic van de Zandschulp. The Dutchman continued his serene progress so far as he beat Damir Dzumhur in straight sets. Van de Zandschulp was broken in his first service game, but he held serve from that point as he wrapped up a 6-3 6-3 win after one hour and 27 minutes. He has not dropped a set so far at the event.

Van de Zandschulp has looked the more convincing player this week, but Navone does lead the head-to-head 1-0 after a win at the Braunschweig Challenger last year on clay. This has the makings of a competitive semi-final.

Mariano Navone vs Botic van de Zandschulp tip: Over 18.5 games
