Magdalena Frech’s highlight of the campaign so far was her run at the Merida Open, as she won four matches on the bounce to reach the final. However, she was unable to get the job done as she lost out to Cristina Bucsa. That loss has set off a sequence of disappointing results for Frech, and she is now on a four-match losing run. Katerina Siniakova has not participated in a singles match since her straight sets loss to Camila Osorio in the first-round of the Miami Open.
