Magdalena Frech vs Anna Blinkova prediction

Magdalena Frech defeated two-time Grand Slam champion Victoria Azarenka in straight sets in the first-round of the Italian Open but then fell to a defeat at the next stage to Olympic champion Qinwen Zheng. She has only made the second-round of all three clay court events she’s competed in over the last month and a half and will hope to make a far deeper run in Strasbourg ahead of the French Open.

Anna Blinkova enters the main draw as a qualifier. In her four events on clay, she has only reached the second-round in one of them, and that led to a defeat against world number one Aryna Sabalenka at the Madrid Open. Blinkova showed promise at the start of the year with quarter-final finishes at the Linz and Texas Opens, but her form has dried up on the clay. 

Blinkova leads the head-to-head 4-2 and 2-0 on clay, though both wins on the surface were on the ITF Tour. Frech recovered from a dreadful start to win their most recent encounter in the second-round of the Australian Open this year, winning 0-6 6-0 6-2.
