Mackenzie McDonald vs Botic van de Zandschulp prediction

Mackenzie McDonald will hope to put an indifferent run behind him in Chengdu.

The American had lost four of his last five matches prior to fighting through qualifying and now meets Botic van de Zandschulp for a third time. 

The pair have split their previous two meetings although McDonald prevailed most recently on the grass of S’Hertogenbosch last year. 

Botic triumphed on the Melbourne hard courts three years back and has shown time and time again that his big-hitting style suits the surface and can make him a match for the very best on his day.

The Dutchman reached the final at Winston-Salem prior to a narrow loss in his US Open opener and if he can avoid lapses on serve, this match will be on his racquet.
