Melbourne Victory’s third consecutive league defeat combined with Newcastle Jets’ surprise win away at Auckland FC in the previous round of A-League fixtures has dropped the Victory down to the bottom of the table, a new low for the club this season. They’ve now lost four of their six league games so far, picking up just four points.
Macarthur’s inconsistency came back to haunt them again as they failed to back up victory over Wellington, losing 0-2 to Perth Glory most recently. However, their two previous losses have seen them bounce back with victory in the following league match. Factor in the lack of confidence and belief within the visitors’ squad and it’s worth backing Macarthur to pick up three points.
