Lyon vs Le Havre prediction
In midweek, Lyon succumbed to a 3-2 aggregate defeat to Turkish giants Fenerbahce in the play-off round of the UEFA Champions League. Paulo Fonseca’s side had worked extremely hard to get back into that competition and so there will surely be a period of really feeling that loss as they try to focus on domestic matters for the time being.
Le Havre have narrowly avoided relegation in each of the last three seasons and they are again expected to struggle under the management of Didier Digard. They began the 2026-27 Ligue 1 campaign with a slender 1-0 defeat to Monaco at Stade Oceane due to a 14th minute header scored by former England international Eric Dier.
Lyon did start their season with an impressive 2-0 win at Angers last week and are favourites here but their mood may ensure it is not an overly dominant or convincing win.
