Lucrezia Stefanini vs Magdalena Frech prediction

Lucrezia Stefanini put an end to Sloane Stephen’s comeback to the WTA Tour in the first-round, beating the American in three sets. Stephens had not featured since February and fought back in the second set to force a decider, but Stefanini outlasted her opponent to win 6-4 4-6 6-1. 

Magdalena Frech enters the tournament as the fourth seed after receiving a bye in round one. Her campaign at the US Open ended in the third-round as she lost to 2023 champion Coco Gauff in straight sets. Frech has not enjoyed the best of the seasons but did begin her North American hard court summer swing with a run to the quarter-finals of the Washington Open, her best result of the season so far.

Despite her overall form, Frech is ranked over 100 places above her opponent in the rankings and should be coming through this match with a victory in straight sets.
