Luciano Darderi vs Yannick Hanfmann prediction
Luciano Darderi began the defence of his title with a straight sets win over Mattia Bellucci. Despite a first serve percentage of just 49%, he won nearly 80% of those points and did not even face a break point as he claimed a 6-4 6-2 win after one hour and 18 minutes. The Italian will view this event as a fantastic opportunity to win a second title of the season.
He now faces Yannick Hanfmann, who required three sets to beat Karim Bennani. The German was not broken on serve but did lose the second set on a tiebreak. Nevertheless, he raced clear in the decider to win 6-4 6-7 (3) 6-2 after two hours and 12 minutes.
This is a rematch of the final of the Chile Open last month, with Darderi winning in straight sets. He also beat Hanfmann in the quarter-finals of the Cordoba Open two years ago on clay. The Italian’s ground game was excellent in his opening match, and he’ll be a clear favourite against Hanfmann once again.
