Lorient vs Lyon prediction

Although an inability to hold on to leads has cost Lorient some vital points in recent weeks, they did manage to claim all three in a fine 3-1 win over Nice last weekend.

Their current streak of three games unbeaten is their longest of the season, but that will be put to the test against a Lyon side who have suddenly found their scoring boots.

The visitors have smashed in nine goals in their last two games, following a 0-6 triumph at Maccabi Tel Aviv in the UEFA Europa League with a 3-0 win over Nantes in Ligue 1 last Sunday.

Even if they're not at their fluent best here, Lyon possess enough individual quality in forward areas to punish a shaky Lorient rearguard. At times they have struggled to juggle domestic and European commitments this season, but having had a much-needed week of rest, they should be primed to take three points from Lorient on Sunday.
