Lorenzo Musetti vs Alejandro Tabilo prediction

Lorenzo Musetti made it back-to-back Chengdu finals after easing past Alexander Shevchenko in the last four.

The top seed secured an emphatic 6-3 6-1 victory to maintain his excellent recent form and tee up a showdown for the trophy with Alejandro Tabilo.

The Chilean is also on a roll having finally put aside what has generally been woeful form in 2025 to showcase some of the tennis that saw him surge into the Top 20 last year.

Tabilo edged to a 6-4 7-6 success over fourth seed Brandon Nakashima and will now meet Musetti for the first time at tour level.

The Italian did win 6-2 6-0 in a Challenger on clay four years ago and while that won’t have too much bearing on the psychology of this one, the world number nine will still be the obvious favourite here.

Tabilo definitely has the game to cause Musetti trouble and the South American leftie will aim to try and overload the top seed’s one-handed backhand with crosscourt pace and depth.

Whether that is enough remains to be seen, but Musetti has stood up to tougher tests in the past and will have the motivation to finally get over the line and win this tournament.
