Lois Boisson is back in a WTA-level semi-final.

The French starlet burst into the spotlight with her run to the last four at Roland-Garros and she has shown that sort of form again this week on the Hamburg clay.

The fifth seed put together another excellent showing as she ended Viktoriya Tomova’s excellent run with a 6-3 6-3 victory.

Boisson will now meet second seed Dayana Yastremska who took down Dalma Galfi by a 7-6 3-6 6-3 scoreline. 

There’s nothing in terms of previous between the two and Yastremska form and ranking make her the favourite.

However, Boisson made a habit of making a mockery of world rankings in Paris and she is certainly playing with the panache that captured the imagination at the French Open here.

We think it could go either way and a punt on it going the distance seems worthwhile.
