Liverpool Preview: On the beach
Liverpool come into this one on the back of a 3-1 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the first game since they secured the Premier League title against Tottenham Hotspur a couple of weeks ago with a come from behind 5-1 demolition of Spurs in that game.
The Reds, coached by Arne Slot, were magnificent in the first half of the year but performances and results have certainly dipped this year and in particular in the spring with four victories and four defeats in their last eight matches across all competitions.
Arsenal Preview: Season over
Arsenal suffered a 2-1 defeat, which perhaps flattered the Gunners’ overall performance, to Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes in midweek in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League to complete a 3-1 aggregate loss to the French champions.
Many suggest that Arsenal showed some fight in midweek but they were generally limited and lacked any sort of intensity and impetus after the opening ten minutes to challenge an admittedly controlled and excellent PSG side in the French capital.
Liverpool Team News: Nothing fresh
In his pre-match press conference, Arne Slot has confirmed that former Bolton Wanderers loanee Conor Bradley will start in what is Trent Alexander-Arnold’s penultimate home game as a Liverpool player.
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Szoboszlai, Diaz; Jota
Unavailable: Gomez (Injured)

Arsenal Team News: Calafiori returned
In midweek, Italy international Riccardo Calafiori returned to fitness as he came off the bench against PSG, whilst Jorginho also returned to the squad. Jurrien Timber is also believed to be fully fit as he started in Paris.
Predicted XI (4-3-3): Raya; White, Saliba, Kiwior, Calafiori; Odegaard, Partey, Rice; Saka, Merino, Trossard
Unavailable: Gabriel (Injured), Tomiyasu (Injured), Havertz (Injured), Jesus (Injured)

Liverpool vs Arsenal Prediction
Liverpool are coasting towards the end of the season with little to play for but the Reds will want to finish their 20th league title winning campaign with some good performances at home at least. They face an Arsenal side that are not absolutely certain of a top five spot and UEFA Champions League qualification just yet but they should be fine and there is a good chance they will feel both physically and emotionally fatigued in midweek so a Liverpool victory seems the likeliest outcome for this one on Merseyside.
