Lille vs Lorient prediction

Lille come into this one on the back of having finally turned around their previously tortuous form to kick off the calendar year. The hosts have now enjoyed four successive victories across all competitions, having edged past Nantes by a goal to nil last week to back up a UEFA Europa League victory against Crvena Zvezda.

They now face a Lorient side that have grown into the campaign after promotion last season and they are in contention for European qualification. The visitors did succumb to a surprise and frustrating penalty shootout loss to Nice in the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France on midweek after what had been a goalless draw.

With their home advantage, Lille will be expected to come out on top and exploit any dent in Nice’s confidence with both teams scoring seeming a good bet.
