Lens are coasting towards the end of the season with Will Still being linked with a move away once again as they now take on Auxerre up in the north of France at Stade Bollaert-Delelis.

Lens Preview: Lens’ frustrating season

English-Belgian coach Will Still has been dealing with serious personal matters in the last couple of months but he has now begun to, just like he did with Stade de Reims last year, advertise himself to English clubs with Southampton said to be interested in him.

The northerners’ form has been inconsistent of late but they did get themselves a victory last weekend to close the gap between themselves and the European spots. The hosts did manage to cruise past Stade Brest by three goals to one last weekend.

Auxerre Preview: Steady Auxerre

Following their promotion to the top-flight last season, Auxerre have been very impressive this season as they begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting tucked inside of the middle-of-the-table under the management of Christopher Pelissier.

The visitors do, though, come into this one on the back of back-to-back 3-1 defeats. The first of which came at home to Olympique Lyonnais a couple of weeks ago before then suffering a loss by the same scoreline at Stade Pierre-Mauroy against Lille last week.

Lens vs Auxerre Prediction

Lens have put in some improved performances over the last month and a half or so. However, even with their improvement, they have remained fairly frustrated in the final third. They take on an Auxerre side that have overachieved this season but the visitors appear to now be ‘on the beach’ so to speak so siding with Lens looks the way to go for this one, especially with their home advantage.

Lens vs Auxerre Tip: Lens to win
