Former Roma boss Eusebio Di Francesco has been tasked with pushing Lecce further away from perennial relegation battles. The hosts began their season by winning 2-0 away from home against newly-promoted Venezia, courtesy of second half goals scored by Olaf Gorter and Tiago Gabriel.
Gian Piero Gasperini led Roma to the UEFA Champions League last season and the Giallorossi have started this campaign extremely well. The Romans hammered big spending Fiorentina by four goals to nil at Stadio Olimpico, inspired by a hat-trick notched by Netherlands international attacker Donyell Malen.
Roma looked to be at Gasperini’s fluent best last weekend and a more proactive Lecce may well play into the hands of the visitors down in the south of Italy on Monday.
